E-Voting for Pakistan

Why NOT E-Voting for Pakistan?

Pakistan is a society of people who can protest on killing of political / religious people, on rigging in elections but not for the real cause which is used to rig election in Pakistan since long. Yes I am talking about emerging technology in our Electoral Process i.e. E-Voting / Online Voting.

While researching about it, I was shocked to know that our neighboring country India is using E-voting since 1999! It’s been 14 years India is using this technology and here we are using those ballots which are usually stamped by political parties & changed (for rigging). I didn't find any political party arguing or demanding to introduce E-Voting.

It was first time PTI participated in Elections & they were expecting to clean sweep but after elections they said that elections were rigged. Reason is same that we are following ballots TECHNOLOGY! Why our political parties are not forcing Election commission of Pakistan to emerge E-Voting system in Pakistan. Trust me, it will change the entire system of voting in Pakistan. I know these status quo parties won’t be demanding for E-voting because almost every party have fixed there polling stations to rig elections. But parties who claims that they are against status quo and wants free and fair election should raise their voice in favor of e-voting.

Srilanka’s election commission is already working on introducing E-voting in their elections. Even Bangladesh have used Electronic Voting Machine in Dhaka City Corporation as pilot and soon they will emerge it in their general elections. But the worst part is our election commission is occupied in printing of ballot papers & purchasing magnetic inks. Even none of our local/International NGO’s & civil societies are not raising their voice on introducing E-voting.

As an individual, I am starting working on campaign in favor of E-Voting in Pakistan. I would like to invite all of you to join this noble cause. You can contact me through my blog or contact details available here, I will connect you in my campaign loop.

Why not Israel??

Why NOT ISRAEL??

Politically and historically, Pakistan & Israel; both states were established on their ideological declarations:

Two-Nation Theory and
Homeland for the Jewish people

Most of us don’t know that soon after independence of Pakistan, Israel’s first Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion formally contacted Mohammad Ali Jinnah through a telegram, But Jinnah refused it in hard words. Since on various stages, recognition of Israel either directly or indirectly is being discussed on various occasions. Even in 1948, current Morocco style trade office was tried to setup in Karachi but again unfortunately it couldn’t be done. Large number of Jews were residing in Karachi & Peshawar before independence but gradually it decreases and now not even a single Jew is residing here.

A meeting took place in New York between Zafrullah Khan and Abba Eban, then Israel's ambassador to the United States, on 14 January 1953 to discuss Israeli–Pakistani relations. But unfortunately he couldn’t take hard decisions at the moment because of Gulf countries pressure or LOVE for Muslim world.

Liaquat Ali Khan was about to join hand with Russia as they offered them 100% literacy and employment in few years, but unfortunately he was shot dead soon after his meetings with Russian (Soviet Union) officials. Same goes here, not recognizing Israel is a mistake. I still can’t understand why Islamist are scared of Jews? They are the one who follows Moosa (A.S). Mullahs are ok with USA or China but not with Israel? Why? This is a questions which is yet unanswered & I think will remain unanswered as our leaders are pretty scared of our Local Mullahs. They even can lift ban from Youtube, this shows there incompetency.
Discussing Hudood Law, Blasphemy Law, Recognizing Israel are one which you can’t discuss in Pakistan directly or indirectly else Extremists or Thaikidar of our Religion will kill you after Tagging YAHODI-AGENT.

Land of Israel is sacred for Muslims, Christians & Jews equally. Even If I get a chance to visit Jerusalem & Tel-Aviv, I would love to Travel. But unfortunately my Passport won’t allow me to travel. Egypt, Jordan, Turkey & Palestine are the countries who have recognized Israel & in Good terms with them. Why not rest Muslim world?

At least we can initiate Morocco type relationships with Israel. This will help us in making ourselves strong in United Nations as well our International standings. Strategic help & military help which already Israel providing to India can be provided to Pakistan as well. But without recognizing it, it’s impossible. We are just a Muslim state by name. none of the Islamic laws are being implemented here except for the few then why not Israel?

From few sources, following materials was found which shows how & when Pakistan & Israel officials tried to contact each other or people have soft corner for each other.

Diplomatic:
Some Israeli leaders believe that should diplomatic relations with Pakistan be established then Pakistan could serve as a bridge between Israel and the Muslim world, including Arab countries. Although the governments of Israel and Pakistan do not officially have relations with each other, there have been a number of contacts between the two states. According to the Jang news, there continue to be multiple media reports that in the past many powerful Pakistani personalities and figures have visited Israel. Former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf has openly spoke for the diplomatic relations with Israel. He is the first Pakistani Muslim diplomat to give interview to Haaretz. In London, he was interviewed by Danna Harman.
Military ties:
Britain's Department for Business, Innovation and Skills revealed in 2013 that Israel had exported military technology to Pakistan. In 2011, Israel sought to purchase from Britain equipment that would then be exported to Pakistan. These included electronic warfare systems and aircraft parts. Israel denied the report and Pakistan called the revelations "misleading."
Sporting ties:
A team or a person officially representing Pakistan has never played an Israeli. During the 2002 Wimbledon Open, Israeli tennis player Amir Hadad teamed up with Pakistani tennis player Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi to play in the 3rd round doubles. The Israeli and Pakistani teams, with their pairing of an Israeli and a Pakistani, made headline news.
Dan Kiesel, an Israeli-born German, served as the Pakistan cricket team's trainer and physiotherapist and lived in Lahore.
Zionism:
Former Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khurshid Kasuri supported ties between Pakistan and Israel. Tashbih Sayyed was a well-known Pakistani-born American who openly expressed his support of Israel in many of his columns and writings throughout his journalistic career.
Media:
Pakistan's Express Tribune newspaper has praised Israel on numerous occasions. Most commentators on the newspaper website have also displayed pro-Israel sentiment.

Peoples Party

Movie Review of Chambaili

Chambaili

After “Khuda kay Liye”, I didn’t watched any Pakistani movie. Although “BOL” was a big hit as well but it didn’t convinced me to go to Cinema for watching it. Khuda Kay Liye was a super hit movie & bit controversial as well. Since that, I waited for 2 movies, one is Kaptaan which is yet under process & another one is Shahzad Nawaz’s Chambaili. I met Shahzad Nawaz 2 years back in Youth Parliament’s session. He visited us in some event organized by Youth parliament. I found him a very genuine, straight forward person. He also appreciates my speech during session, and from there we exchange our contact numbers & facebook ids. From Shahzad Nawaz’s status I get to know about his movie, since that day I have decided to watch this movie on cinema.

Finally release date was announced and that was 26 of April Friday. We plan a Tweet-Up (Twitter Meet up) on 27th April for Movie along with the assistant producer of Chambaili Moiz Masoor. I know Moiz through twitter & found him as genuine as Shahzad Nawaz is. All thanks to Farman for booking our tickets for movie. Me, Adeel, Priyanka, Vishal, Tuba, Tuba’s cousin, Farman & Moiz watched Chambaili together.

During Whole movie, most impressive character was of Moosa. His dialogue delivery & body language was very impressive. Dialogues of Chambaili are really outstanding. I mean I have never seen any movie with such well written Urdu dialogues. Especially:

“Tum Aam sahi per Aham ho, Tum kuch nhe ye Weham hai”.

“Apnay Anghoto per Kalak mal lo, iss se pehlay k Monh per koi Kalak malde”.

& the poem “Sotay raho mere Bhai” which was also featured in song “DUDUGI”.

I have witnessed round of applause several times by people sitting in cinema during whole movie. Chambaili is perfect for motivating everyone specially youth to cast their vote. Role of middle class in changing this whole political scenario was presented very well. People might criticize role of Hazrat in the movie, but it’s a harsh reality of our society and the style of presenting this is highly appreciated. Worst thing which happens with us was the ending of the movie, when newly elected President was announcing immediate actions for the betterment of “Yaadgar Colony” was censored or may be CUT by cinema. My interest was in it as I really want to know what kind of immediate actions can be taken according to writer & which political party’s manifesto is like that. But unfortunately it was censored.

Overall experience was great specially watching movie with assistant producer was a great experience. During entire movie, Moiz’s complete concentration was on every scene. May be he was recalling his memories that how they have shot this single scene and what problems they have faced while shooting. I am not a critic nor expert who can give marks, but if I would asked to give marks to Chambaili. I would give 9 out of 10 to Chambaili. It’s really a motivating movie, and a great effort by Shahzad Nawaz, I would suggest everyone to watch it. This will be a token of appreciation for the entire Team and for the revival of Pakistani cinema specially Socio-Politic cinema.

Jamat-i-Islami Manifesto

Critical Analysis on Jamat-i-Islami’s Manifesto

Jamat-i-Islami is one of the oldest ISLAMIC political organizations of Pakistan. Although I am having serious reservations on Islamic organization’s participation in Pakistani politics, yet no one can deny Jamat-i-Islami’s existence & its work done in various fields. I am one of the criticizers of Jamat-i-Islami as my thinking is more secular or liberal.

PS. (If you don’t know the real definition of Secular, then do contact me).
For election 2013, Jamat-i-Islami presented brief 25 points agenda along with policies to achieve their target. While reading there manifesto, I realize that manifesto of Jamat-i-Islami is atleast designed by some educated & competent person unlike JUIF. Policies which are given on brief points are pretty impressive. Although achieving these tasks is really impossible but providing policy is really a positive change in Pakistani politics.

Education – Health – Justice – Jobs – House - Prosperity

Above 25 points are the parts of Jamat-i-Islami’s manifesto. Let’s have a quick analysis on manifesto as well as policies given in it.

In FORI-IQDAMAAT, Jamat-i-Islami provides solution of Energy crisis. According to them within 6 months, Pakistan can generate up to 20,000MW electricity where as they also claim that within 5 years of tenure, they can increase electricity generation up to 50,000MW.
As per my calculation, next 5 years formula is pretty impossible. I don’t know how they can increase production to 50,000 MW as right now we are hardly producing 7000-8000MW.
On various points, they pointed China for support either its on energy crisis or relationship points, this shows that Jamat-i-Islami have finally decided to go for ANTI-AMERICA & PRO-CHINA policy.
As all political parties, Jamat-i-Islami also focuses on Same Education system, but I didn’t find any policy on same education system. They also pointed that Urdu will be used as medium of education whereas English will abolished from everywhere. Even English supremacy will also be removed. Although it sounds attractive to few but technically we should realize importance of English now. English is an international language & we should admit and try to teach English for positive change.

I didn’t found any policy or point regarding increasing of universities in Pakistan. Although indirectly they discourage CO-Education system, but no policy in increasing universities & medical colleges. Even one thing which shocks me is in 5 years of tenure, they claim that they will increase literacy rate up to 100% :O! If they are following Zia-ul-Haq as his regime literate is one who can read Quran. In 5 years, if they change definition of literate person, then they can achieve their target as without its really impossible. If Pakistan imposes Emergency on Education, it will take at least 16-20 years to achieve 100% target.

Minorities rights will safeguarded in Jamat-i-Islami’s government. Even points which are presented are very technical. Even they suggested Minorities religious law will be used for their judicial issues etc. I just have a question; will you safeguard Right of Ahmedis, Shias & Ismailes as well?

Jamat-i-Islami gives highest importance to Youth column. Ease in education, playgrounds for youth (separate grounds for females) etc will be provided to youth. But last point is really confusing. Healthy cultural activities will be given highest importance & provincial culture will be groomed through it. I mean what kind cultural activities they are talking as our culture is all about folk dances, music, songs etc. And according to ISLAMIC FALAHI RIYASAT, these activities should be ban. I think this point needs more clarity.

Women rights will also be safeguarded in Jamat-i-Islami’s tenure. In manifesto, they openly declared that in there tenure they will ban heavy Jahaiz, expensive wedding plans, illegal customs like VANI, KARO-KARI, marriage with Quran etc will abolished & laws will be made to discourage such activities. For Primary education, Female teachers will be given priority.

Above were the few points which were of highest importance & analysis is presented. Although Manifesto was drafted very well, almost every point is addressed in it. But few are yet unanswered or left unanswered to attract voters. In last election, Jamat-i-Islami boycotted, but now they are well prepared and adjusted few seats with different political parties. This time MMA does not exist and all ISLAMIC political parties are contesting election from their very own platforms.

 Vote Wisely.

JUIF Manifesto

JUI-F Manifesto (Election 2013)

This will be the very first time in the history of Pakistan when Manifestoes of political parties are given highest priority. After 1970 slogan of ROTI KAPRA AUR MAKAAN, this is the first time when a common person is looking towards political parties regarding their slogans & manifestos. Yesterday, I read Manifesto of Jamiat-i-Ulma-e-Islam (Fazal-ur-Rehman) group. As usual Manifesto was of Typical Islamic point gaining. Let’s have a quick look on it along with details:
Main pints of JUI-F Manifesto 2013
1-   Pakistan Islamic Welfare State. 2- Islam official religion of Pakistan. 3- Comprehensive system of Islamic laws implementation.
Point 1,2&3 are already written in our constitution but partially implemented. Only naming Islamic Republic of Pakistan is not the solution. I really don’t know what kind of Islam he will implement in Pakistan once they get into power.

4- Foreign policy – Equal relation with all countries.
Well I have an objection, with all countries is kind a impossible. We have to set our priorities. Maulana Sahab is ANTI-America, but he didn’t add this into their Manifesto! WHY?? Are they giving softer image to world specially to AMERICA?

5- Strong system of accountability.
Be Careful Maulana Sahab,

6- Education compulsory up to metric.
What kind a education system he talking too? I think elaboration is required because may be he will change all private schools in Madarsahs.

7- Free education up to bachelor level.
Only for Bachelors Level? :O What about Alim’s course because I think you might be interested in creating more Alim’s then scientists.

8- Education in mother tongue.
Pakistan’s mother tongue is yet not decided. Officially it’s URDU. But unofficially English is being used for office work where as Sindhis are having their CNIC cards in their own language. Which mother tongue you are talking about? Again clarification + elaboration is required.

9- Education budget will be increased up to 15%.
Increasing of 15% education budget? Will he cuts Armies budget? LAME JOKE. Current government can’t provide 2% properly & he is talking about 15%! I can bet on it, it’s impossible.

10- End of Co-education. Separate universities for males and females.
After Reading this, a song came in my mind:
طئب علئ پیار کا دشمن ھاے ھاے

11- Science education easier.
Easier AS IN??
12-Encouragement of private institutions.
Having serious reservations on Private Institutions... WHY Private? Why not Public Private Partnership?

13- Antony of Madrassas.
آگے

14- Degrees of Madrassas will be equal to government institutions.
This clause is very lame! I mean you can add it as a degree program which is equivalent to Bachelors degree. What is meant by Government institution? I really need a comprehensive reply on it.

15- Minorities rights to establish their religious education institutes.
Is it for Ahmedis / Qadyanis as well because according to him they all are واجب القتل
So how they will ensure provision of Minorities rights and their educational institutes.

Missing things:
·         Energy Crisis.
·         Pakistan-Iran Gas pipeline.
·         Petroleum prices.
·         Cutting of Prime minister house & presidency’s budget.
·         Nothing for YOUTH?
·         Local bodies system.
·         Nothing for female education system.
·         No master plans of development.
·         No policy paper?
·         No Anti WAR strategy (Anti-American)
·         No policy on relationship with India & Iran?
·         No policy on water crisis.
·         No policy & paper work on Kashmir issue?

Ohh, I am Sorry! This manifesto is for Madarsah’s students. Not for us...

Unknown Facts about Pakistan

Few Unknown Facts about Pakistan

Pakistan Resolution was presented by Lion of Bangal A.K. Fazal-ul-Haq. I read it in my Pakistan studies book & in movies related to independence but never get to know who drafted it. Why? Because he was an Ahmedi? Let me tell you his name, that man was Sir Zafar-Ullah khan who drafted Pakistan resolution which was presented by A.K. Fazal-ul-Haq in 1940 at MINTO PARK.

Do you know who first Law Minister of Pakistan was? NO, because he was a Hindu. Let me tell you about that great man who was appointed by M.Ali Jinnah, his name was Jogendranath Mandal. Who was later appointed as First labour Minister and then 2nd Minister of Commonwealth and Kashmir Affairs. However, realized his folly in 1950 when thousands of lower castes Hindus were massacred in East Bengal generating a wave of refugees to India. He himself fled to India and submitted his resignation to Liaquat Ali Khan, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Do you know who first Finance Secretary of Pakistan was? Of course you don’t know it. Let me tell you, First Finance secretary of Pakistan was a very well known Christian of subcontinent Sir Victor Turner.
Do you know who was the founder of All India Muslim League & its first president? Well let me tell you. Sir Agha Khan III (Sultan Muhammed Shah).

Do you know when Pakistan Resolution was passed? 23rd March 1940? NO Dear, It was presented on 23rd March but passed on 24th March at the end of All india Muslim league’s annual meeting.

Do you know who was Pakistan’s first Chief of Army staff? Ayub Khan? NO! General Douglas Gracey.

After arriving Karachi on 7th August 1947, Do u know which place M.Ali Jinnah first visit? Most of the people think that he might visit some MAZAAR or Masjid or offers some NAFILS. NO! He visited Holy trinity church in Saddar, and assure all Christians that he will make Pakistan a best place to live & practise there Religion.

Do you know who the first President of Pakistan was? M.Ali Jinnah? NO! Mr. Iskander Mirza.

These are the few facts which I found from history books. But in Pakistan studies, portray image is like Pakistan is only for MUSLIMS. Minorities were never part of it, or they haven’t played any role in establishing or maintaining Pakistan. I am against the word Minority which we used all non Muslim communities. They are citizens of Pakistan & enjoying equal opportunities. Incident of Badami Bagh is actually not by Muslims or Pakistanis but Extremists who are gift of Zia-ul-Haq.

I wish All History books should rewrite once again with reality & facts. Else what we have studied or studying is biased.
