Kathmandu’s New Dawn: When Gen Z Took the Streets

Image
Kathmandu’s New Dawn: When Gen Z Took the Streets I still remember my time in Kathmandu as a student. The chai stalls tucked in corners, friends sharing dreams of change late into the night, and the constant sighs about how corruption was eating the country alive. Everyone knew the frustration, but most had learned to live with it. Not this generation. On September 8 and 9, 2025 , Kathmandu’s youth—students, workers, dreamers—poured into the streets. They weren’t just angry about the ban on digital media . That was only the spark. The fire had been lit long before—by broken promises, delayed projects, and a system that always seemed to move backwards. The Pulse of Gen Z Gen Z doesn’t wait. They don’t believe in files stuck on dusty tables or projects delayed for years because some babu hasn’t stamped a paper. They want things done now. They’ve grown up in a fast, connected world—and they can’t tolerate a system that steals their time, their money, and their hope. We saw i...

Kya Mumbai – Kya Karachi

Time to start a SAARC Youth Movement Sixty-nine years ago, India and Pakistan decided to part ways. Lines were drawn on land, water and even in the sky. The two countries took different political turns. Their relations saw many ups and downs. There have been several instances of open conflicts. There have been instances where relations almost reached a dead end. But beyond politics, beyond the control of minds, remain hearts that are still full of love and hope. Following every political clash, the youth and civil societies in both countries have attempted to rekindle the hopes. And each time, they managed to win hearts by highlighting the love and desire for peace that lies in most people’s souls. The average Indian and Pakistani have the same secret desire to cross the border, at least once. They want to see what people on the other side eat, how they talk, what they look like and how they think. And going by what people say who are fortunate enough to have visit...

Say NO to POLIO

Image
Eradicate Polio Several people have been killed in the latest wave of violence against polio vaccinators in Pakistan. The attacks undermine government efforts to eradicate the virus in one of the few countries where it remains endemic. Polio is a highly infectious viral disease, mainly affecting children younger than 5. It can cause permanent paralysis and death, but can be prevented through immunization. The virus is spread through contaminated food and water. Lack of proper access to anti-polio vaccination has led to a rise in polio cases in the South Asian nation. Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria are the only countries in the world where polio remains endemic. The number of polio cases in Pakistan rose from 58 in 2012 to 91 in 2013, out of which 65 were located in the remote tribal region bordering Afghanistan.   In 1991, due to financial constraints, only 83 percent of Pakistani children had been vaccinated. Intensive eradication campaigns such as...

E-Voting for Pakistan

Image
Why NOT E-Voting for Pakistan ? Pakistan is a society of people who can protest on killing of political / religious people, on rigging in elections but not for the real cause which is used to rig election in Pakistan since long. Yes I am talking about emerging technology in our Electoral Process i.e. E-Voting / Online Voting. While researching about it, I was shocked to know that our neighboring country India is using E-voting since 1999! It’s been 14 years India is using this technology and here we are using those ballots which are usually stamped by political parties & changed (for rigging). I didn't find any political party arguing or demanding to introduce E-Voting. It was first time PTI participated in Elections & they were expecting to clean sweep but after elections they said that elections were rigged. Reason is same that we are following ballots TECHNOLOGY! Why our political parties are not forcing Election commission of Pakistan to emerge E-V...

Why not Israel??

Why NOT ISRAEL ?? Politically and historically, Pakistan & Israel; both states were established on their ideological declarations: Two-Nation Theory   and   Homeland for the Jewish people Most of us don’t know that soon after independence of Pakistan, Israel’s first   Prime Minister   David Ben-Gurion formally contacted Mohammad Ali Jinnah through a telegram, But Jinnah refused it in hard words. Since on various stages, recognition of Israel either directly or indirectly is being discussed on various occasions. Even in 1948, current Morocco style trade office was tried to setup in Karachi but again unfortunately it couldn’t be done. Large number of Jews were residing in Karachi & Peshawar before independence but gradually it decreases and now not even a single Jew is residing here. A meeting took place in New York between Zafrullah Khan and Abba Eban, then Israel's ambassador to the United States, on 14 January   1953 ...
