Killings HALAAL, VALETINE’S Day HARAAM

Killings HALAAL, VALETINE’S Day HARAAM

Our Religious organizations are the one who desperately waits for February. Since February started, Billboards of Karachi were occupied by Red heart shape Balloons, Red roses, Chocolates’, teddy bears, hotel menus etc, but a different thing I have witnessed this year and that was billboards and trucks advertisement by a Religious Organization against Valentine’s Day Celebration.

Even on 14th night, I have seen many MOLVI HAZRAAT standing in front of Dolmen City Mall (Clifton) with long banners, distributing handbills which were discouraging valentine’s day. Although there protest was very silent & Peaceful, neither they were disturbing any traffic nor anyone’s privacy as well BUT why they were protesting? Is it really creating Mess?? I don’t think so! I am not Justifying Valentine’s day, For me 14th February was a regular day as I never celebrated mother’s day, Father’s Day, Friendship Day & of course Valentine’s Day.

Today, Clifton’s most busy area that is TEEN TALWAAR is occupied by youth, also known as BURGERS boys and girls. They are sitting over there for solidarity with their SHIA brothers and sisters & protesting SHIA killings in Quetta. I didn’t find above organizations’ billboard, protests are any other activity against SHIA KILLINGS. Millions of rupees were spent on campaign against Valentine’s Day but not a single word against SHIA killings! Why? Isn’t hypocrisy? Or they really have issues with 14th February only???
Campaign against target killings should be set up and all religious organizations should join hands and launched a mass campaign in which they should condemn and discourage killings but NO, they all are running Mass Campaign against Valentine’s Day! WHY? They should read Pakistan’s constitution in which every citizen has given equal rights and freedom of expression and speech. Target killing is really an issue, not Valentine’s Day. Killings are destroying families, not Valentine’s Day. But I don’t know why our Molvi’s are scared of Valentine’s Day.

I am not justifying Valentines’ day as I never celebrated it. It’s a regular day for me but why all organizations were putting their huge budgets to discourage it? Even billboards were placed ideally on shopping spots, near big restaurants etc.

Did they really achieve in converting or diverting people and convinced them not to celebrate Valentine’s Day? HELL NO. So why was this campaign? Previously I remember almost same campaign was set for BASANT too, and now Molvi’s target is Valentine’s Day.
