Discriminatory Education System

Discriminatory Education System

International Literacy Day 8 September

Ten years of education in Sindh can be

·        O-Level Cambridge
·        Matriculation (Urdu Medium) –Sindh Board
·        Matriculation (English Medium) –Sindh Board
·        Matriculation (Sindhi Medium) –Sindh Board
·        Matriculation (Agha Khan Board)
·        Madarsah

This means that every year, we are developing 6 types of DIFFERENT YOUTH. Is it DISCRIMINATION OR NOT??

I received a reply from a government official that NO, it’s all about your choice. You have the option either to select any. Unfortunately those rich people can’t understand that it’s NOT about choice. It’s about DISCRIMINATION. We all know that labour class can’t afford O-Level’s fees. That’s why they prefer either to select Matriculation in (Sindhi/Urdu) or to go for Madarsah, or not to select ANY and keep rising illiteracy rate!

If it’s about choice to select any, then I can challenge, change the fee structure to same, NO one will select Matriculation or Madarsah. Everyone will go for Cambridge system.

Getting education in Pakistan is status symbol now. If you are from a well to do family, you will definitely go for O-A- Levels and after completing it, they have the option; either to go abroad or to complete education from some EXPENSIVE PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES. It’s a HARSH reality that an O-Level’s student is not equal to a Matric student. Unfortunately our so called politicians have confined us to such system in which from beginning to end, students have to face DISCRIMINATION! WHY?

If prince William of England can study in local institute and live in shared accommodation during his studies then why this DISCRIMINATION in ISLAMIC REPUBLIC of PAKISTAN?

Once in a seminar on education, a government official says that all these educations systems give a healthy competition in our society. And with this, all boards will start struggling to come over on other.

With due respect, SIR, it’s not COMPETITION. It’s all about accommodating Elite into Elite institutes and poor into worst! Can’t we provide a single education system to everyone?? If we, then I am 100% sure that our unprivileged class will bring change in this country. Most of the positions will be taken by those. And I am pretty much sure that this is the reason which insecure our politicians. They always distance lower class/Middle Class from Education...
